Lessons:
1. Introduction
Huxley explains that he wanted to make a piano style track in his own way. During lockdown he felt more free when it comes to creating different styles of music. He uses Kontakt for his piano samples, Little Plate for reverbs and Sausage Fattener by Dada Life for saturation.
2. The Drums
To shape his kick, Huxley uses Transient Master, SSL Channel Strip and Logic’s EQ and saturator.
He answers a question on mixing pianos and bass.
3. The Bass
Using the DX7 plug-in, one of Huxley’s favourites for bass.
4.The Vocals
Using a sample downloaded from Splice. Huxley found a repetitive vocal that fit the track well. He uses EQ, Sausage Fattener, FF Pro-L, Echoboy & Little Plate on the channel strip effects.
5. The mdyelo
Using Omnisphere to write out an additional melody, this is one of Huxleys favourite parts of the track.
6. Live Q&A

Meet Your Teacher
Huxley
Over the last seven plus years, the friendly character has excelled at many different styles, often ahead of the curve. Known for his well swung grooves, main room house and deeper, musically accomplished offerings that stir real emotion.
As a DJ, Huxley is someone as comfortable headlining a vast festival stage as he is holding down a small and sweaty basement. He does so from Africa to Australia and is the sort of selector who always delivers a slick, high impact dose of the good stuff. Such is his definitive sense of taste that he continues to lead from the front on his own Rinse FM show. It is there he welcomes exciting guests such as And.ID, Truncate and Vin Sol, and there that you get a wider window into his musical world.
